"Internet Explorer has stopped working" popup when opening - Microsoft Community

strange issue here can't seem figure out. have numerous users connect our on-site exchange using outlook 2016 client on windows 7 64-bit.  these stations have either internet explorer 10 or 11. starting last tuesday 2nd may, many users began having issue open outlook, pop-up message appears stating "internet explorer has stopped working". when click through it, keeps coming on , on again. way stop open task manager , kill iexplore.exe.

it occurs every time open outlook client. pops ie , can see it's trying load page from https://w2.outlook.com with title of "get outlook on phone free" before crashes.

we've tried deleting outlook profile in control panel (forcing re-load profile exchange), opening outlook in safe mode, disabling add-ins, repairing , reinstalling microsoft office, etc. 1 thing seems work deleting windows profile pc re-loads ad next time user logs in, want try , avoid this. has else seen and/or have solution?
