update from 15002 to 15048 always fails - Microsoft Community

i have tried on dozen times install slow ring 15048 on top of 15002. goes through steps, when reboot have 15002.

i've run sfc /scannow - no errors.

i've run dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth , fails error 0x800f081f

(from read online, says download image of iso of 15002, , use sources switch, can't find - links microsoft.com provided in forum read in no longer work, , weren't insider preview editions anyway).

i've tried booting in safe mode networking, video card displays black page after windows boots (the bios setup , boot manager screens fine). tried manually set resolution 800x600 , reboot in safe mode networking, , same result.

i have 2 geforce gtx 980ti's sli'd. somewhere read problem nvidia uses actual opengl.dll, microsoft windows 10 uses stripped down opengl.dll. i've tried move displayport multiple other sockets on of computer, monitor gets no signal. (i don't recall how set uefi ignore graphics cards , use onboard graphics). haven't tried pulling graphics cards because 4 hour project attempt.

i tried clean boot; disabled non-microsoft services , disabled startup's. still didn't work. anti-virus (3rd party) wouldn't allow it's services disabled, uninstalled it. still didn't work.

what take upgrade? why doesn't upgrade process tell me "this isn't going work"? can find log tells me why 15048 doesn't boot? no errors reported me.

install iso didn't work either, have info failure in "update boot code".
