Rthernet Speed Problem - Microsoft Community

i running win 10 build 14986, sometime between july , december ethernet speed collapsed. in july getting 30mbps, in nov/dec dropped <5mbps. higher upload speed download speed. nothing has changed except os. feeling network settings changed/modified in 1 of updates during period. ethernet controller realtek pcie family controller has had driver updated version 10.10.714.2016.

the events section of properties includes following statement, "device pci\ven_10ec&dev_8168&subsys_76931462&rev_06\4&2ddbb3b7&0&00a8 requires further installation." have no idea might mean or relevance problem.

the network runs on tp-link pass through powerline adapter. people has commented powerline networks unreliable, house wiring has not changed in time , not explain greater upload speeds achieved.

any suggestions or guidance what/where problem might lie, gratefully received.

the message requiring further installation interim message issued during driver install , superseded driver install completion. have seen happen before.

this issue equipment owned isp. isp modem, somewhere in neighborhood, starting fail, or physical wiring in home or outside have become compromised in way. should able detect happening , trace problem source.

on other hand, insider builds, have been making significant changes windows components, have impacted networking in various ways. should install public build 14393 on small partition , compare performance on same hardware (dual os boot). eliminate insider build networking changes being source of network performance degradation.
