Modern setup host has stopped working when updating via ISO from 14955 - Microsoft Community


hello, having lot of trouble updating windows lately (which doesn't download, , when did ended error 0xc190011f, gave up) , thought i'd rather update through iso, seems doesn't work because setup stops working "modern setup host has stopped working" few seconds after agreeing microsoft's terms , conditions. i've tried literally on google , it's not ordinary. cannot refresh windows right due limitations. might have stuck on build end of time :/. if need more info please ask.

when upgrade new build fails, these steps may enable succeed:

  • completely uninstall non-microsoft anti-virus software.
  • perform clean boot before upgrading. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929135 
  • disconnect un-needed peripherals, such devices connected via usb , sd cards.
  • disable network adapters after build has downloaded before restarts, or before running setup.exe, if upgrading via mounted iso or windows 10 install media.

sometimes disconnecting internet, such unplugging ethernet cable, enable stalled upgrade complete.
