Laptop will not update from insider preview build 15031 to build 15048 - Microsoft Community
there three problems originaly first after had cloned old hdd , installed ssd tried update build 15048 first time error code came popup saying " can not install on usb memory stick" after checking new sata2 ssd in fact connected , registered , device manager removing references old hdd , ssd on usb while cloning in hidden devices ssd remained. started searching on internet see if known problem , after 2 days ended here , found solution. on july 9 2016 stefan pilot helped andre da costa same problem , told him there registry hack needed fix , gave exact details on find in regedit folowed instruction letter , worked no more "can not install on usb stick". next trick try update build 15031 15048 , time started restrart happened started configuration got 35% befor through in towel , opened wellcom screen rather restart finishing config. second , third time did same when tried again hour , half ago got 88% through in towel again. don't know if problem build 15031 or build 15048 corrupted?????. third problem windows defender deactivated , when reactivate , try download definitions comes internet connection error althow there no problem internet have cfos internet accellerator installed , can see on graph when downloadind or uploading too. has had same problems or can come solution. no novice computers copier tech 30 years , converted pcs when company started sell them copiers printer. we/i built pcs customers needs but, no os engineer @ dead end

you need in logs details. depending on log applicable 85% may found represented in in own peculiar way. way of getting timestamp context real problem symptom.
