error 0x8078011d creating system image windows 10 - Microsoft Community

i have been using windows 7 backup , restore -> create system image process while participating in windows 10 insider program , has let me out of awkward situations several times without having reinstall windows 10 , applications.  after installing build 16226 tried create system image , clicked on "start backup" got requester:

the backup program had selected 3 partitions on main drive , not d: drive separate physical drive:

i went disk management app , indeed 100 mb unnamed system drive not marked ntfs.  shows "healthy (efi system partition)."  have laptop windows 10 (outsider? normal? regular release?).  100 mb system drive shown ntfs.

it seems either system partition or "create system image:" got changed time in last couple of builds.

does know how fix can take image of present system?

if don't suggestions in next day or can install different hard drive in insider machine , try restoring older image see whether partition type on 100 mb system drive ntfs.  might useful diagnosing problem,  won't me make image of present installation.

hi,

since mentioned backup being saved on elements 1 backup (g:), seems using external drive save backup. when try backup system external hard drive, windows image partition associated system files, including system partition, recovery partition, , efi system partition. usually, recovery or system partition formatted fat32 instead of ntfs. getting error message because windows can’t create system image if 1 of these partitions fat32.

you correct in diagnosis might caused 100 mb unnamed system drive not marked ntfs. may try converting efi partition ntfs. however, may encounter boot issues if partition main efi system partition (the partition contains uefi firmware launches uefi bootloader).

before making changes file system of partitions in hard drive, kindly send screenshot of disk management screen showing partitions in drive further identify cause of error.

looking forward reply.
