Cortana on Windows Phone will not open apps - Microsoft Community

cortana on windows phone has changed in last week or so. used able "open rapidrecorder" bluetooth earpiece, , phone launch rapidrecorder, app on phone. instead opens search page "open rapid recorder". (not useful when i'm driving...) i've tried other apps, , result same. phone functions -- call, text -- work fine through cortana, no apps work.

this issue may software related given settings good. resolve this, let's perform soft reset. method not remove @ phone, , safe attempt in situation.

perform soft reset:
1. make sure phone turned on.
2. press , hold volume down , power button until phone vibrates , restarts.

take note should not touch device screen during process (not when 'slide down power off' prompt appears).

after performing soft reset, try check if issue persists.
