Failed to install my dev-builds to some phones - why? - Microsoft Community


hi team,

recently ran across 1 strange situation. have 4 our phones (and 3 of same model, lumia 950, last 1 verizon-branded lumia 735 updated win10). phones on latest os (anniversary update, build 14393). phones in developer mode. phones configured install apps device memory, not sd card.

symptoms: 2 950 lumias can install dev builds of our uwp app successfully. 1 950 lumia , 735 lumia refuse so.

ways of app distribution tried same negative result:

1) manual copying .appxbundle or .appx phone (then tap "install" , nothing happens on 2 of 4 phones)

2) distributing via hockeyapp (then tap "install" , nothing happens on 2 of 4 phones)

3) installation via web interface of device portal. on 2 phones, receive error

  a) in case install app itself

      failed start deployment. failure text: package failed updates, dependency or conflict validation.(0x80073cf3)

  b)  in case install app , 2 arm dependencies (microsoft.net.coreruntime.1.0.appx , microsoft.vclibs.arm.debug.14.00.appx):

      failed start deployment. failure text: package not registered. (0x80073cf6)

4) installation via winappdeploycmd command-line tool. says:

    opening connection device @ '127.0.0.1'.

    0x80131500 - exception hresult: 0xc00000bb
    0xc00000bb - exception hresult: 0xc00000bb

on verizon lumia 735 it's say:

    opening connection device @ '127.0.0.1'.

    0x80131500 - existing connection forcibly closed remote host (exception hresult: 0x80072746)

    0x80072746 - existing connection forcibly closed remote host (exception hresult: 0x80072746)

could you, please, advise can reason of such behavior? happens our app dummy test app.

regarding concern, understand how frustrating when things not work expected. please follow these methods assist better.

method 1:

we suggest soft reset phone, method not remove @ phone, , safe attempt in situation.

    to perform soft reset:   

  1. make sure phone turned on.
  2. press , hold volume down button , power button until phone vibrates , restarts.

take note should not touch device screen during process (not when 'slide down power off' prompt appears).

after performing soft reset, try check if issue persists.

method 2:

check article more information about:  if cannot download or update apps store on lumia.

if above methods did not resolve issue...

method 3:

we suggest contact our customer care team. providing in-depth information , assistance issue experiencing devices.
