IE 11 will not Install on Windows 7 - Microsoft Community
my sony vaio laptop crashed. ran recovery disks. of course, updates came in. removed norton trial software removal tool since learned may interfere. vaio backup in case dell crashes. also, play games on the vaio that won't run on windows 10.
installed sp1 update only. no vaio or other ms updates. sp1 shows in update history installed, yet is not under installed updates. when try install ie 11, won't install because sp1 not installed. tried twice using restore point created after removing norton.
outside of defender, there no other antivirus software on vaio.
ie8 is on vaio limits can go website, links, downloads, etc. can use my windows 10 dell retrieve , transfer if needed.
ie10 won't install either. standalone installer runs , runs , runs. waited 15 minutes.
why doesn't sp1 install properly? are there other updates needed first?
lots of threads issue, honest, creates confusion.
