Installation of 16170 Fails With GSOD - Microsoft Community


at reaching 32% complete of last phase of bld 16170 installation gsod msg

system thread extension not handled

have tried installation 5 times same result after trying various suggested fixes ( deleted 3rd party anti-virus software, deleted registry key, ran troubleshooter twice).  reverts bld 15063.14

system surface pro 2 i5 processor, 128g ssd.  first time in long time since problem installation.

note:  during initial 16170 download lost power/internet seemed pick after power/internet restored.  now system tries installs. download files corrupt?  how can delete download files start process beginning?

any other suggestions?   thanx

delete c:\windows\softwaredistribution\download folder, or entire softwaredistribution folder download again.

ensure no sd card installed. try "clean boot" before installation.
