Microsoft Edge wont allow me access to 90% of my favorite websites - Microsoft Community

had automatic windows update on 4-15, , since then, i've had many probems while perusing internet via microsoft edge.  websites used before update yesterday,  no longer allow access.  instead, when click on site in favorites, or in "search", a message screen pops up, , says "the server________ asking user name , password.  server reports netgear wnr 2000v4.  access resource  denied, client has not supplied correct authentication".  why has screen never popped until now?  , why allowed access small handful of websites after update?  have done computer scan and virus scan , ok.  have re-booted computer few times, tried bing , google chrome, , tried other wifi locations, still no-go.  tried computer , had no problems getting onto favorite sites.  yesterday's update got messed in computer.  please help.
