Can't install insider updates - Microsoft Community


hi,

i've been having problem on hp 8" envy tablet installing updates since 14937. have sd card 20gb free , there 4gb free on device.

i un-enrolled in windows insider preview restarted , re-enrolled. download completed, started preparing updates , error:

"we found issues. select message fix , finishing updating."

i tap "fix issues" button nothing happens. past updates tell me have low memory , select drive. i'll select sd card , installs. isn't happening now. right now, update pending, have 26.3gb used out of 29.1gb. temporary storage shows 3.15gb.

after searching, hits found pointed error message , tried several still have problem. ideas? thanks.

you might low on space.  i wonder if using new windows 10 system files compression? clear space on c:. run compact /compactos:query see if has been enabled.

if not, can run compact /comaptos:always enable it. compacts system files , not whole disk , meant low storage space devices using ssd or flash memory, not actual hard disks.

also, run cleanmgr /sageset choose of disk cleanup options, followed cleanmgr /sagerun execute choices. clear lot of space.

there option select data storage location under settings - system - storage. maybe let store more on sd card if use that.
