ever have 1 of days?
after windows 10 updated latest preview build, seemed fine. logged in , used computer several hours before shutting down before going out.
when turn computer on, goes through normal boot process way startup image time/date. click screen login can enter password, screen fades should, password prompt never appears! no box type in , no login button. faded photo 3 option icons on lower right.
the network icon has red x on it, , when click on it, says "no networks available" (yet there i'm using via emergency linux boot disk.)
i've tried restore last restore point via win10 install cd, reported restore "failed" when done, , repair refuses run (no idea why.) linux confirms c: files intact.
before happened, trying rename folder, windows kept telling me couldn't because "a program inside folder in use." used "msconfig" disable startup apps & services reboot w/o mystery app loading, still got same message. :(
so, using msconfig again, booted safe mode (no f8 menu win10?) , still got same message.
i tried safe mode "no gui" (dos mode) , still couldn't rename folder ("access denied"). ran msconfig again, set normal (enabling startup apps & services), when windows started, found myself new problem (no password prompt , no network.)
i can't safe mode since appears f8 no longer seems work windows 10.
i don't know if new problem introduced latest preview build of win10 (14986 iirc) or if problem win10 has had msconfig/"safe mode" didn't discover until now, seriously wrong.
short of entirely reinstalling windows, know of fix? tia
ps: can't rollback upgrade if login because used disk cleanup remove it. :(
