Windows 10 USB tethering problems with Android phones. - Microsoft Community


issue:

windows 10 selected older ndis driver in default after connecting internet usb tethering, becomes extremely laggy , unusable.

how reproduce:

1. connect an android phone computer.

2. turn on usb tethering on phone.

how resolve:

1. open device manager

2. go to network adapters

3. right click "remote ndis based internet sharing device" , select "update"

4. choose "browse computer driver software"

5. select "let me pick list of device drivers on computer"

6. uncheck "show compatible hardware"

7. in manufacturer section, select microsoft

8. choose "remote ndis compatible device" model , click next

known devices having issue:

1. google pixel

2. asus zenfone 3

testing environment:

windows 10 pro build 15031.0
