Typing into start menu - letters in wrong order...? - Microsoft Community


this odd, due weirdness try , describe see happening.

when open start menu , start typing, if type characters, fourth character inserted behind third. 3rd letter type placed @ end. when select , start typing, no longer overwrites text adds letter 'second last' place in string have typed. can happen @ other positions too. see video example. 

i put on dropbox temporarily:

i have done sfc /scannow, tried closing various programs, used on screen keyboard, etc. got rid of ms mouse , keyboard center, changed region , language settings, , think of. process monitor , process explorer did not nor did looking @ resource monitor - nothing weird seems happen in of these.

i believe new of recent update 16266.

as in video, selecting text with mouse , hitting backspace or del, deletes last letter. ctrl+a allows deleting it, ctrl+a + typing character, inserts second last spot, rather replacing has been typed

it feels there unicode control character sneaking in there - right left reading order, how possible , in start menu search bar?

experiencing same problem on 16226.  had popup text something framework .  troubleshooting yields no joy.
