Unable to open hyperlinks when Edge is default browser - Microsoft Community


hyperlinks not connect when edge set default browser. edge launches fails connect web page referenced hyperlink. happens on hyperlinks. example, facebook post comes email. clicking hyperlink launches edge, , little connect circle continues circle. page never connects.  however:

  • i can launch edge itself
  • when change default browser, hyperlinks launch browser , page connects

although have been pretty browser agnostic, edge function properly. end, ran sfc /scannow command admin permission. scannow found no issues.

any ideas how can fix improper situation edge?

the problem cleared while testing.  switching in different default browser , switching edge in cleared problem.  perhaps should have tried before cold boot , sfc scan.
