Updates to Windows and Office topics and subtopics - Microsoft Community
hello community,
windows creators update lot of amazing features start rolling , adjusting our forum topics in order reflect changes. have deployed several metadata updates in support of windows 10 creators update.
please find below changes implemented:
- under windows/windows 10 forum following topics renamed:
- download install , activate >>>>> install, upgrade, & activate
- windows store >>>> store
- hardware & drivers >>>>> devices & drivers
- update, backup, & recovery >>>>> windows update, recovery & backup
- security, privacy, & accounts >>>>> security & privacy
- accessibility & ease of access >>>>> ease of access
- other settings >>>>> windows settings
for windows 10 creators update, preview versions of 3d available via windows insider program. reason, moving current 3d preview on windows topics , associated threads out of windows forum , new, duplicate set of topics on windows insider program forum.
in order accommodate new 3d capabilities coming windows 10 creators update, have created new topics under windows -> apps on windows 10
- paint 3d
- remix 3d
- view 3d
along updates in windows category, changes office forum structure occurred:

while have thread , running office topics, mind looking @ in office.
in office under office sub-topic have windows 8 no longer supported.
should 8.1.
i move office threads windows 8.1 , have put them under 8.
and think number of questions windows 7 , office warrants own sub-topic.
at present lumped in xp, etc. under other or other/unknown
why not have:
windows 10.
windows 8.1 > or windows 8/8.1
windows 7.
etc.
