Chrysler Uconnect compatibility and features with WP 8.1 and 10. - Microsoft Community

 

here compatibility of using fca (fiat chrysler automobiles) uconnect system windows phones.

i tested uconnect system on chrysler 200 limited 2016 uconnect 8.4 (non navigation-- should cover uconnect 5.0) on 2 nokia lumia 635(s). (both virgin mobile/sprint phones)

one of phones was running windows phone 8.1 , other running windows 10 mobile (november update).

both connected via uconnect's bluetooth paring system , latest updates groove music , xbox music.  (note uconnect 8.4 or 8.4 nav same different features , bigger version of uconnect systems.)

windows phone 8.1

cortana: not work system @ all.

media: xbox music works uconnect 8.4, users can browser and select music that in users collection purchased selection for or music pass. (including songs not on device causes streaming occur)  uconnect sorts a users music artist, album, genera, etc.  pausing, skipping, shuffle, etc. works great. playing videos youtube works including pausing , playing uconnect. (but note if person has 3rd party music app have select music in app rather through uconnect system.)

contacts: contacts show , can call people.

calling: can receive , make calls , plays through system. (audio seemed low when in phone call settings on voice calls)

windows 10 mobile.

cortana: works uconnect in weird way when playing around on phone hit cortana search button , came through speakers , told joke. (or use commands play music or artist) noticed uconnect acted made call on "phone" section. hit "redial" , called 555-555-9876 , when dialing, phone pulled cortana sleep , started talking me. long story short, use redial after making cortana come through search button first on phone. then uconnect system acts like a user talking cortana.  all features of cortana works: checking weather, set  alarm, play (song) (artist) or "what's playing."

media: pause , play work, shuffle works. selecting music in windows phone 8.1 grayed out , users have end using cortana or using phone select music 

contacts: cannot bring phonebook on uconnect odd reason.calling: works in 8.1

bugs , fixes.

(windows 10 mobile only) if user attempts use hands free cortana after turning off car , turning car on. uconnect attempt call blocked number , require cell connection not work because it's fake phone number. resolve issue force cortana open voice command holding down search button on w10m. uconnect user can hit "redial" on "phone" page , pull cortana.

(both 8.1 , 10) if uconnect user turns on vehicle , manually connect device uconnect system , shows box blue music note on "media" page , no text shows after 15 seconds user have unpair , repair device car's uconnect system (under bluetooth pairing settings on uconnect)

 

(both 8.1 , 10) if audio seems low confirm windows phone bluetooth audio volume set 22-30. (30 works best.)

(windows 10 mobile only) if device not automatically connect, pull down action center , hit connect app. scan devices , connect uconnect system.

i hope helps owners of windows phones fiat chrysler products know can or not uconnect system. when owner of car goes mopar.com @ on connecting windows phones not option.

if else has add or can test out uconnect 5.0 (small screen) or radio 3.0 (no screen) great.
