Windows Mobile 10 notification stopped working on WhatsApp and Skype - Microsoft Community

first , foremost, happening whatsapp app, same issue occurring on skype preview.

* both current versions of whatsapp , whatsapp beta not getting new message notifications
* happening on 640xl, 1520, , 950xl, running on latest w10m build (10.0.14393.576), not phone specific
* tried whatsapp on alcatel fierce, using w10m preview build (10.0.14977.1000) , whatsapp gets message notification whether app running in background or not running @ all.

* have done tests: app running in background, app not running, soft resets between phones, , alcatel fierce has worked far during past week

does know what's change in insider preview build fast fixed problem? also, when build promoted general release? prefer not put preview builds on main phones, tired of not getting notifications , have open app , keep open see incoming messages.

microsoft folks, please provide , provide insightful , knowledgeable answers , not generic level 1 customer support responses.  have worked software company on 22 years , have been using ms pda/phones since first generation of pocket pc.  notification issue not , have seen several posts people genuine problem , ms support person came hard reset response.  in explanation above, i have shown , proven issue the current build, please don't give me run around.

to troubleshoot issue, suggest perform hard reset on phone , check if issue persists. please back stuff avoid data loss.
