Problem Installing Insider Build 15002 - Microsoft Community

i trying install build 15002.  able download build via windows update and system goes through "getting ready install phase - seemingly without problem.  told (as expected) need reboot do.

the system reboots , goes through "configuring update windows 10" phase (does seem take longer usual) , reboots again expected.  system starts boot - blue screen background windows logo never goes next step (the installing files, getting ready etc) - shows blue screen logo (not the animation during bootup)  - left sit 4 hours before powering off , restarting today (3rd try).  when log in, system still show 14971 in bottom right , on "about screen" in system settings.  however, update history says 15002 installed.

i running insider preview in vmware virtual machine.  vm has 8 gigs of ram , had 10 gigs of empty hard drive space.   if matters, host box running anniversary update amd fx-6120 , 24 gigs of memory along on 200 gigs of hard drive space.

also note never able update 14971 14986.  after being unable update 14986 via windows update (even after running multiple versions of windows update troubleshooter), tried updating via iso burned 32 gig thumb drive.  while did upgrade, got immediate bsods (sometimes began type password on login screen) upgraded version. one rare occasion log in, minute or two, bsod.  there no pattern bsod codes - differ every time restarted vm.  of course, after each failure restored vm external backup disc.

i have seen others reporting issues build 15002 , virtual machine versions (vmware or virtualbox). have used 15002 on hyper-v , on physical pcs.  have tried creating new vm , clean-installing build 14986 , upgrading?

if can install of 14393 upgrade 15002, download esd file 15002 prior first restart (as 14393 not use new uup method upgrade). used create 15002 iso other clean installs. ended making own install.wim 15002 use installing elsewhere, using disk image 1 of vm's , capturing dism.

an official 15002 iso should made available in week or so.
