throwing out in community see if others have had similar experiences and, hopefully, microsoft staff chime in.

i've completed fourth new build upgrade -> reset pc -> reinstall virtualbox guest additions -> reinstall of deleted programs -> rebuild start menu in row.  4 build upgrades, 4 resets.  have had perform half-day ritual each time virtualbox video driver allow 1920x1080 sizing on desktop monitor. 

let's pause moment , agree more of problem oracle fix, agree won't beat part of post death (the virtualbox forums have covered), , move on real question.

i have been considering move bare metal virtualization solution vm ware time, have been lazy install , set up.  however, seeing repeatedly vm ware users not having these setup issues , can on evaluating win 10 , making worthwhile contributions instead of having re-set-up , re-install once every few days, new builds introduced.  

what need know risks / options / possible losses if switch windows insider install virtualbox vm ware virtualization.  lose registration / activation / membership?  seen new member insider program?  essentially, using same hardware, different virtual containers / virtualizing software.

why reset?  new build upgrade , save installed programs. 

the insider builds linked microsoft account should no big deal switch different virtual program.
