New Lumia 735 "Can't Connect" to Microsoft Account - Microsoft Community

i purchased new lumia 735, single sim, replace aging lg lancet.

everything during setup went fine until asked sign microsoft account. when tried so, got "can't connect" message in "we can't connect right now. wait few moments , try again." hours ago. tried setup account option, got same response.

based on looking online on laptop, have tried:

1) resetting time & date

2) turning off wifi connection , trying through cell phone connection (vzw)

3) soft reset

4) hard reset , try set second time scratch including removing old lancet microsoft account device list through laptop.

during 2nd setup, message ms appeared indicating device upgraded windows 10 mobile using upgrade advisor. attempt @ downloading app store failed because couldn't connect microsoft account , resulted in getting message error code 80070057. when looked up, microsoft response had desktop systems , there nothing error on windows cell phones.

i can log in microsoft account through ie on phone, can't set account on phone sync email, calendar, or store operations or else matter account setup required. service status screen @ ms says on end.

i can set yahoo , gmail accounts without incident, ms not working.

any appreciated.

after continuing search answers, ran across elsewhere mentioned microsoft "windows device recovery tool" searched on ms site , found there.

the program designed dl'd pc or laptop , installed , run platform.

backup data dont want lose on cell phone

after installing software, ran program , got message couldn't see device. attached cell laptop usb micro-usb cable. program found lumia 735 , told run program. gave me warnings data wiped , told proceed. using home wifi, took 30 minutes or dl firmware. said firmware date, selected reinstall option. took 30 minutes, when cell rebooted @ end, ready set up. ms account option appeared in set steps, selected sign-in, , worked. seems working far well.

if clean firmware reinstall trick, explain odd error code related registry corruption on desktop platforms.

there may ongoing update microsoft server many users having same issue. rest assured service possible. please check time time. can try suggested workaround above given cfordg.
