Favorites menu - Microsoft Community

after have arranged favorites in drop-down menu in order convenient me, find have been re-arranged back into alphabetical order requiring me scroll down favorite i want click on. how can keep menu in order arrange it?

let's issue resolved following steps below:

method 1: run built-in troubleshooter in windows

1. click on start , select control panel.

2. search troubleshooting , click on troubleshooting.

3. in left pane, click on view all. select internet explorer performance.

4. click on next and follow on-screen instructions troubleshoot issue.

note: this section, method, or task contains steps tell how modify registry. however, serious problems might occur if modify registry incorrectly. therefore, make sure follow these steps carefully. added protection, registry before modify it. then, can restore registry if problem occurs. follow steps given here registry.

1. press windows logo + r keys on keyboard , type in regedit in command box , press enter.

2. locate , click key or sub-key want up.

3. click file menu, , click on export.

4. in save in box, select location want save backup copy to, , type name backup file in file name box.

5. click on save.

method 2: modify favorites list order using registry editor

1. press windows key + r, type in regedit , press enter.

2. navigate folder: hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\menuorder\favorites

3. in right pane of location, right-click on order , click on delete.

4. reboot computer , can sort favorites according desired order.
